According to the 2010 United States Census, Ohio had an estimated population of 11,537,000.  Of these residents, about 23.7 percent were under 18 years of age, 62.3 percent were between 18 and 65 years old, and 14.1 percent were over 65 years old.  Roughly 48.8 percent of the state's population were males and 51.2 percent were females.  The median age of Ohio residents was 38.8 years, compared to the median age of 37.2 years for all United States residents.
